The Milford Lions Club was Chartered April 29, 1946. Howard D. Furniss, better known as Doc, was instrumental in the startup and continuing success of this club. Doc moved to Milford from Laurel Delaware, where he was a member of the Laurel Lions Club. He decided to start a club in Milford and the rest is history.
Meeting Information
Dinner meetings are the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. Board meetings are the Monday preceding the dinner meeting. Dinner meetings start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Shawnee Golf & Country Club, located at 6152 South Rehoboth Boulevard (Business Rt. #1). Starting with our February 9, 2012 dinner meeting, we will relocate to Grier Hall, located at the rear of the Milford Carlisle Fire Company, 400 N. E. Front Street. Visitors are welcome, but we need you to contact us the week prior to the dinner meeting that you are planning to attend. Our board meetings start promptly at 6:30 p.m. and are held at Milford Library at 11 S. E. Front street, in the Milford Lions Meeting room.
